pdfFactory Pro is an indespensable tool that most of our customers install along with InheriTax and/or 6-in-1.  These simple instructions can be downloaded or viewed right here, and will get you up and running quickly.  These are instructions for installing pdfFactory Pro v3.52 on your desktop computer.  If you are using Citrix or a Remote Desktop type environment, please refer to the server version of this article.

As our flagship product, 6-in-1 Estate and Trust Management Software (6-in-1) can be configured as a Standalone or Multi-User application.  Now built on the FileMaker 19 platform, we have some exciting updates in store.  This article gives an overview of 6-in-1's technical architecture and is a good place to start for IT professionals or anyone installing and maintaining the software.

FileMaker Pro (FMP) is the engine that runs 6-in-1 on your desktop wether you are using Standalone or Server Edition.  For various reasons, you may need to apply incremental updates.  For example, when Server Edition is updated with the latest 6-in-1 database components (the usual annual update, at minimum), the client side of the equasion (FMP for 6-in-1) often also should be updated.  New in late 2024, Lackner Connect (a new utility that manages your 6-in-1 software and facilitates automatic updates) is recommended, and is included with the latest update which this guide steps through.

Every year we release updates to 6-in-1 to support the latest tax forms, changes in tax law, and to enhance the product.  This article includes step-by-step instructions to install these updates for Server Edition users running the FileMaker 19 version of our product on Windows Server 2016, 2019, or 2022.  Screen shots for these instructions are based on Windows Server 2019, but can easily be adapted for users running Server 2016 or 2022.
