That is no longer necessary — once FileMaker and Lackner Connect are installed, Lackner Connect manages all 6-in-1 database updates automatically.

Multi-User — User Workstation
FileMaker Pro (FMP) installed on a user's workstation/desktop connects to a shared FileMaker Server (FMS) that hosts your office’s 6-in-1 databases. Install FileMaker Pro on each user workstation or RDP server, and also on the server for administrative purposes.
Which version of FileMaker Pro do I install? It depends on which version of FileMaker Server is running in your office: FMS 21 or FMS 22 → install FMP 22 (recommended) FMS 19 or FMS 20 → install FMP 21 (because FMP 22 is not compatible with FMS 20 or earlier) Not sure what your server runs? Server (FileMaker Server)
Install FileMaker Server (FMS) on the machine that will host your office’s 6-in-1 databases. Pick the version that matches your server’s operating system.
Which version of FileMaker Server do I install? Use the newest version that's compatible with your server's operating system: FMS 22 (recommended): Windows Server 2019, 2022, or 2025; macOS Sequoia 15 or Tahoe 26 FMS 21: Windows Server 2019 or 2022; macOS Sonoma 14 or Sequoia 15 FMS 20: Windows Server 2016 only Not sure what your server runs? After installing FMS, you also need FileMaker Pro on the server machine for administrative purposes. Use the appropriate installer from the Multi-User panel above.
