Over time, your list of Estates and Trusts can become quite substantial.  If you're using the accounting module, your transactions database can become huge, which can slow things down.  To help keep your lists tidy and relevant, and to optimize performance, some users want to be able to archive inactive Estates & Trusts.  This article offers basic step-by-step guidance to archive and restore Estates & Trusts in 6-in-1.

6-in-1 supports single-user and multi-user installations.  Multi-user installations are supported for both macOS and Windows.  In this environment, 6-in-1 users on either Macintosh or Windows computers can connect to the shared 6-in-1 database hosted on a Macintosh or Windows server.  The two platforms work seamless together.  This article offers step-by-step dirctions for installing all required components on server running macOS.

When determining the version of your 6-in-1 installation, there are two (and sometimes three) main components that you should be aware of:  FileMaker Pro, FileMaker Server (for multi-user installations only), and 6-in-1 databases.  This article helps you identify what versions you're running.

In the FileMaker 11 (and 10) version of 6-in-1, the menu structure is hidden by default.  There are situations where access to this menu is necessary.  This article shows you how to reveal the full menu structure.

We will not be removing the HUD-1 from the InheriTax package, so you will able to continue using it in its current format without interruption...

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court published new Register of Wills forms (#06-10) and Orphans’ Court forms (#01-06) on August 9, 2016 (the first such revisions in 10 years). These forms are required for all filings submitted on or after September 1, 2016. This requirement is apparently being strictly enforced (two Status Reports using the old form were rejected today for firms that had not installed the update)...
